United Way of Hancock County is kicking off its 2017 campaign with a campaign rally and luau at the Elks Lodge at Northridge on Thursday, September 7. The luau is open to the public and will include a hog roast, live music with J.D. Owen, cash bar and more. The cost to attend is $15 per person.
Right before the luau, United Way staff will host an informative rally for workplace representatives who will be overseeing their workplace fundraising efforts. All workplace campaign coordinators will be encouraged to attend from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Those attending the rally get free admission to the luau. Performing since 1979, J.D. Owen has fronted numerous bands at various venues. He started a solo career in 1990 and performs classic rock, country, blues, oldies, and Motown music. Owens often plays in bars and restaurants in Put-In-Bay.
United Way of Hancock County fundraising efforts are held from September through November for most companies or corporations in Hancock County.
