FINDLAY, OH (Dec. 18, 2021) United Way of Hancock County's Foundation is accepting Secor Scholarship applications and references through midnight Jan. 17.
The $2,000 renewable scholarship is awarded to a Hancock County high school senior who possesses a 3.5 grade point average or higher and plans to pursue any undergraduate field of study at an accredited institution of higher learning full time during the following academic year. The ideal candidate exhibits a strong emphasis on volunteerism, community service and service learning.
The award for the first year is $2,000, and the scholarship may be renewed annually for three additional years for a total of $8,000.
One new scholarship is awarded per year. Students related to anyone on the Secor Scholarship Selection Committee or United Way of Hancock County paid staff are not eligible to apply.
